Let's Encrypt Wildcard cert

I’m trying to setup a Let’s Encrypt wildcard cert. To do so I believe I need to setup a text key with the name

_acme-challenge.mydomain.com

When I try to put this in for my domain though the software is stripping the mydomain.com part leaving just the _acme-challenge as the TXT entry name. What I am not sure of is whether this is okay or whether this is why my setup does not work. Is there anyway to have the name part of the txt field remain as typed?

It’s correct, it’s just the way they display entries. It would be redundant to have your domain name take space in the UI, you know what that is.

There isn’t a way to keep it there, but know that it works just it was there.
