Large increase in traffic from Google IPs. Anyone know if it is google or scraper?

I have seen a significant increase in traffic from IPs like 2001:4860:7:30e::ff, 2001:4860:7:30e::fe, 2001:4860:7:30e::f8, along with several others from AS15169. Does not seem to be google cloud platform - not listed in the google cloud ip ranges json file.

They are all registered to google, but the user agent is always similar to “Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 10; K) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML like Gecko) Chrome/104.0.0.0 Mobile Safari/537.36”. So, not googlebot or any other bot identified as google.

Anyone know if this is legitimate traffic from google or is this scraping using google IPs?

Thanks!

According to the info on that page (rDNS and published bot IPs), those IPs don’t appear to be Googlebot IPs.

Those IPs look like the Google Chrome Prefetch Proxy - Are google proxy requests really just a hidden bot network? - #11 by freitasm

As they appear to be a way around geo blocking we block them
