We use Kinsta to host our sites and they recently integrated with Cloudflare. All well and good but we have a site who had a domain pointed to Cloudflare (NOT our account so we don’t have access nor does the client) and when we point to our servers there are cloudflare zone errors. Is there a resolution to this without having access to the old Cloudflare account?
If the nameservers still point to the old account and you can’t get access to it, you will need to move the domain off Cloudflare or move it to a different Cloudflare account to get control.
We have access to the domain, so we can change the nameservers to anything we want. We change them to Google Default NS, change the A Records to point to Kinsta but nothing but errors. It’s like the old Cloudflare is still in control. It’s some sort of Zone error related to CloudFlare.
It may be that the domain was linked with another provider that uses Cloudflare, which is now holding on to the configuration. The easiest thing would be if you can figure out who that it and get them to unlink the domain.
If you can’t, you will probably need to contact Cloudflare about the issue.
