Kajabi Hangover (mystery 402 error)

Weird issue here. My domain, rickrood.com, was, up until a month ago, pointed to Kajabi, and everything worked well.

Mid-December, I moved away from Kajabi to GroovePages and set up all the DNS stuff.

However, whenever I type JUST “rickrood.com” or “www.rickrood.com” in the browser bar, it redirects to an ‘inactive’ error page on Kajabi.

If I type “https://rickrood.com” or “http://rickrood.com” in the browser bar, the page goes where it should (groovepages).

I’m stumped… nowhere in the DNS settings is there ANY reference to Kajabi at all. I’ve even deleted the whole setup on CF, re-set it up and nuked all of the CNAME and A records and started from scratch.

How is it still going to that ‘inactive’ page on Kajabi?

I’m new to this, so I’m assuming there must be something really simple I’m missing.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m not even sure how that would be possible. You’re using Cloudflare name servers, and that hostname resolves to a Cloudflare IP address. And, as I recall, you’ve set “Always Use HTTPS”, so Cloudflare will immediately redirect requests to HTTPS, which you say works fine.

Your browser’s Dev Tools (F12 in Chrome) has a Network tab that will help here. It will show you what loads, and you can click on each URL to see which IP address and server headers are involved.
