Just testing pCloud public folder for a static website in cloudflare

What is the error number?

Error 1016

What is the error message?

Error 1016

What is the issue you’re encountering

newbie struggles with CNAME or sure it be a rule

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I am entirely new to this and not sure it is even a good idea.
I noticed you can use the “public folders” to host static websites pCloud
I have my domains at Cloudflare, so thought it easy to test just a cname recorded with the shared link from cloudflare filedn.eu/lgofgtsok9hffafw91ghkcr/test/
It doesn’t work, but I don’t know anything.
I am just an idiot with a little knowledge

TYPE: CNAME
NAME: https://www.tekjunkie.com/
TARGET: filedn.eu/lgofgtsok9hffafw91ghkcr/test/
PROXY STATUS: checked
TTL: 1 MIN(as testing)

So what I want is to use the filedn.eu/lgofgtsok9hffafw91ghkcr/test/ as my site source and display https://www.tekjunkie.com/ in the bowser.

thanks

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

The target of a CNAME is a hostname, it can’t have a path. DNS records point web requests to the correct server, not to a specific file/directory.

To add a custom domain, server side configuration is necessary. I don’t believe this is possible with filedn, but you’d have to ask them if it is.

I see what happened.
it is a URL, and it does display a website, but Cloudflare made it lowercase in the CNAME record.

https://filedn.eu/lGOfgTSOk9hFFaFW91GHKCR/test/

But my question is still the same.
How can I use the above URL so it displays tekjunkie.com and not the URL “test Landing Page

It doesn’t seem to be a CNAME as that doesn’t support upper case.

Is there another way in Cloudflare, or am I just not understanding enough?

You need to see if Filedn have an option to add a custom domain. I don’t believe they have, but I only checked for a minute.

If they have such an option, you need to follow their procedure to add a custom domain. As part of that procedure, they would tell you what DNS records you need to add in Cloudflare.

If they don’t have this option, you can’t do this with Cloudflare.
