What is the issue you’re encountering

I have to migrate to a new cloudflare account, so I copied all the DNS records and settings over from the old account. And copied the new nameservers into hostgator our provider. I am getting invalid nameserver errors a week later and can confirm that the old nameservers from the old cloudflare are still active. I am also getting 4 CNAME errors saying that this hostname is not covered by a certificate. The CNAMES are help,ftp,webmail, and cpanel. What else do I need to do to clear these error messages and get the nameservers working correctly? All settings and records are confirmed 1 for 1 to the old acct.

You need to set the nameservers at your registrar, which is Automattic (Wordpress.com) not Hostgator.

Ah, thank you. Will give it a go. Will the CNAME errors resolve once that happens?

I would guess so as until the new zone is active the Universal SSL certificate won’t be issued.
