Is this considered ethical business practice?

I would like to know if people in the community would consider it fair or ethical for a domain registrar to force website visitors of an expired domain (still within 40 day grace period) to a page saying that the domain is expired, and at the same time not allow the domain owner any way to resolve the situation (cannot renew, cannot transfer/unlock, cannot move DNS records elsewhere)?

This is what I’m currently experiencing with CF! Attempting to manage my domain results in error: There was an error fetching domain data which means I can’t do anything to address my expired domain. Can’t do anything to prevent my business’s reputation from being harmed due to the expired domain message… Contacting support is such a waste of time as they just paste canned replies…
If anyone here can help in any way… I would greatly appreciate it.

I have merged one of your duplicate tickets into 3198007. You do not need to open any more tickets, I will ask the team to escalate 3198007 to the appropriate team.

Thank you! And the only reason I opened multiple tickets was because I wasn’t getting any replies past the initial reply (which didn’t address my issue) even after waiting many hours.

I spoke too soon. Even escalated tickets get the same canned replies:

@cloonan
Thank you for being the only person who has actually addressed my issue in some way. But I"m getting the same canned replies again from billing. Again, my issue is the combination of not being able to do anything along with CF forcing visitors to the DOMAIN EXPIRED page. As you can see, we can’t get anywhere with billing. Would it be possible to not force visitors to the domain expired page until billing gets fixed?
