We are interested in setting up Cloudflare, but right now we’re unsure if it’s possible to set up Cloudflare for only part of a website. We have a front-end WordPress website that we’d like to get set up with Cloudflare, but we also have a separate client portal on the backend that we don’t want to edit the server/DNS configuration for; both of which are on the same domain (not subdomains). Is that possible?
Sorry, that’s the same hostname, so you can’t split it up that way. The only workaround for this would be to use local hosts files on machines that need to access the back end. That would have the direct IP address of your server so they don’t route through Cloudflare.
