Cloudflare is not part of any outbound connections.

Cloudflare run outside of your server, and it only handle inbound connection. It cannot interfer with your outgoing connection.

You didn’t tell us where are you server but here are a few thing you can check:

  1. drop in your server shell. Then run telnet smtp.gmail.com 587 . You should see this banner

It it stucks or hang then your outbound are block.

  1. check iptables
    iptables -L OUTPUT

make sure you don’t have any rule that block port 587 there

  1. Check your hosting provider: if it’s AWS look at your security group and network acl.

  2. Do a quick google like “Does [your hosting] block port 587” you will be surprise to find out.

  3. Migrate off that terrible provider.
