IPV6 connectivity issues for some users to my domain from their desktop

What is the name of the domain?

What is the error message?

request timeout

What is the issue you’re encountering

Some of my clients are using ipv6 networks. they are facing significant packet loss. when they try to use our app from their system, it is not getting connection. when tried pinging our domain from their terminal, it is getting timed out.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

my ubuntu 22 ec2 instance dowsnt have any ipv6 address nor my nginx server have ipv6 listen rules. in cloudflare i have no t added any manual aaaa records.

when i try to ping with my domain from my system when iam connected to jio hotspot from my mobile,

PING api.desklog.io (2606:4700:83ba:48ba:39c6:5b9:46e4:45c2) 56 data bytes
ping statistics — 3 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 2030ms

sometimes, same ping gives me success response with no issues. but sometimes, it is giving like packet loss. what should i do?

some of my clients using my desktop app is facing this issue. hen i connected to them and tried pinging from their terminal same issue persists for them.

so what should i do to identify and fix this issue? temporarily i have instructed clients to force ipv4 in their system. but, what is the permanent solution?

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

I don’t know

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

ping to my domain using ipv6 address.

Are all the affected customers using JIO as well?

Ping is not a reliable method to test connectivity.

Are all the affected customers using JIO as well?

No. it was just an example.

Ping is not a reliable method to test connectivity.
Yea, i know. I tried trace routes and all methods. the issue persists. but not consistently. it occurs sometimes only.

I’m just asking because the JIO connectivity issues are well known, and to my knowledge JIO has a very large market share.

That would be very typical for network congestion.

So, is there a solution for this? Some of my requests are correctly routed by cloudflares ipv6 to ipv4 conversion. But some are getting dropped.

The affected people would have to contact their ISPs to fix the issue.
