IPS tag wont update

What is the issue you’re encountering

I keep updating the IPS tag and it is not being recognised. whois shows that the IPS tag is still CLOUDFLARE. I keep getting emails saying that the domain has been rejected also.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

i have unlocked the domain several times now

What is the domain? (the one you have entered belongs to Nominet).

Are you transferring the domain out of Cloudflare Registrar? If so, then check with whoever you are transferring to as they need to accept the tag change.

I think the issue lies with unlocking the domain and entering the IPS tag.

The new registrar is saying that the domain must be unlocked first, then initiated, then the IPS tag updated.

However with Cloudflare, you have to unlock the domain and update the IPS tag at the same time

I’ve just tried on one of my .uk domains. Press to unlock the domain, when asked to enter the new tag, press cancel. The domain will be unlocked without changing the tag.

can you enter the IPS tag afterwards still?

Yes, the “unlock” button changes to 2 buttons, “lock” and “set code” so press the latter to enter the IPS tag.
