IP for my hostname

Hello,

I am on the free plan of Cloudflare. Does Cloudflare keep the same IP for the hostname, or does it keep changing?

If yes, then what’s the duration?

Welcome to the Cloudflare Community.

Your Cloudflare IPs may change at any time.

What problem are you trying to solve? Sharing that may allow community members to offer more useful answers.

We are about to integrate payment services for which the payment gateway provider has asked for the live IP addresses. Since my hostname is on the Cloudflare I raised the concern.

They probably need your origin IP, although it is difficult to be certain without knowing why they want to know your “live IPs” (whatever that is supposed to mean).

Do you know how they intend to use the information you provide them?

What I understood and assumed is, they believe my hostname is associated with one of my static IPs.

That doesn’t explain how they plan on using the information. If their intention is to identify your traffic, it will not come from Cloudflare. Your origin server will make the connection from its address. This is why knowing how they plan to use the information is important.

I have allowed only Clod Flare IP Range to contact my origin, the rest is blocked automatically.

While that is good, that has nothing to do with the connection to the payment gateway. That connection will be initiated by your origin server. The IP making the upstream connection will be that of the previous host. Considering the following traffic flow:

Visitor → Cloudflare → Origin → Payment Gateway

Thanks for the light! I totally forgot that the connection will be made from my server end!
