IP address misconfigured

#1

Hi,

My domain is: spellingfood.com

I recently changed my hosting from godaddy to hostgator. And I changed the DNS to point to the new ip address.

My site is not working and shows an error. There is no error code. It is a cpanel error page. It says “The IP address has changed.”, “There has been a server misconfiguration.”, “The site may have moved to a different server.”.

Something is going wrong somewhere, and I have no idea what I am looking at. I contacted hostgator and they said that everything is configured correctly from their end and the error is from cloudflare servers. And they gave me this.

I have no idea what to make of this information.

Kindly help me resolve this error. Thank you.

That error is definitely not from Cloudflare. Have you got an SSL cert installed on your server? What is your SSL mode set to in the Cloudflare dashboard (Crypto tab)?

This can sometimes happen if your host does not accept connections over SSL.

#3

No SSL cert on my server. Hostgator automatically adds a Let’sEncript cert, but I already deleted it.

And the SSL mode is turned to FULL.

#4

You need to keep that SSL certificate on your server so Cloudflare can connect to it securely since you have SSL mode set to FULL.

#5

And then switch it to Full (Strict) since there is a valid certificate at the origin.

#6

I have switched it to flexible. It’s been 2 hours, and still the site is offline.

#7

You have a too many redirects error. The easiest way to fix this will be to put the certificate back at your host and set it to Full (strict)

#8

Agreed.

#9

The certificates are installed correctly, and they are fresh and new. And cloudflare is set to Full (strict).

Error 526 Ray ID: 49fc89718bfbc34c • 2019-01-27 16:18:44 UTC

Invalid SSL certificate

And if it turn the SSL to just FULL, it’s the same error as before.

#10

The invalid SSL cert means that the one on your server is not valid. It should be in date and from a trusted CA. If you don’t have one, you can generate an origin certificate in the crypto tab of your Cloudflare dashboard.

#11

It is a Let’s Encrypt Cert. That a valid & trusted CA.

#12

It might have also expired or failed to renew. See if you can find the expiry date of the LE certificate and try to renew it. You can temporarily set SSL to “Full” until you can confirm it has been renewed.

#13

Okay, my site is back online.

Btw, the LE cert was valid till April this year. Anyway, I replaced it with a fresh Cloudflare cert. And cleared the cache and logged out of everything, and shut my PC down and went and had Chinese. And TADAAAA! IT’S WORKING. I knew Chinese always works. Anyway thank you guys, appreciate all the help. Have a nice day!
