iOS 14 now natively supports changing DNS servers and also the DoT protocol. Will the 220.127.116.11 app be adapted soon so that it is no longer realized over a VPN? Because according to Apple, no VPN trick is needed anymore.
As far as I am aware, the iOS encrypted DNS feature is for the app itself. The 18.104.22.168 app enables encrypted DNS system wide, which is why they probably will continue to use the VPN profile feature.
I picked up where, it would now work without VPN and also for mobile communications. But for this, the providers have to provide an app and use the API. Yes, but you’re also right because apps can also use it for themselves. But providers like Cloudflare can also offer it system-wide.
