Invalid nameservers - Why?

What is the name of the domain?

kibi-institut.de

What is the issue you’re encountering

After setting up the domain we changed the nameservers to the cloudflare ones. only the 2 cloudlfare nameservers are set. But cloudflare shows “invalid nameservers” in the setup status. Any ideas why this happens?

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I checked on the Denic website (registry for .de domains) and it seems to be set up correctly Nameserver Check - DENIC eG.

What is the name of the domain?

kibi-institut.de

What is the issue you’re encountering

since 4 days we are still receiving the message that the nameservers are invalid. Even though we entered the ones we got after setting up the domain. Any ideas?

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

checked on the denic website if the servers are entered correctly. see screenshot

Screenshot of the error

Are you sure you’ve changed your domain nameservers at your domain registrar?

Looks like domain still uses old nameservers:

Domain: kibi-institut.de
Nserver: ns1.your-server.de
Nserver: ns3.second-ns.de
Nserver: ns.second-ns.com
Status: connect

Thank you for checking. This is strange. The nameservers where changed 4 days ago and when I check or use the denic tool (as in the screenshot) it shows me the new ones.

host -t ns kibi-institut.de
kibi-institut.de name server christian.ns.cloudflare.com.
kibi-institut.de name server dalary.ns.cloudflare.com.

You have added the Cloudflare nameservers as NS records to your DNS, which is not correct…

As @fritex says, you need to remove the 3 original nameservers and use the 2 allocated Cloudflare nameservers instead.
