Invalid CNAME Target error when using Cloudflare target

Invalid CNAME target. Cannot use records with partial suffixes. (Code: 9059)

We are testing CNME Flattening and getting error when trying to add this CNAME.

Trying to direct my root domain (say mydomain.com ) to 3rd party assigned site mydomain.com.cdn.cloudflare.net

What is incorrect with this site address which is resolvable ?

It’s recursively recursive.
