Hi Cloudflare Community,
We’re excited to share a brand-new product that we’ve just started rolling out — Cloud Connector!
What is Cloud Connector?
Cloud Connector is your new go-to tool for effortlessly routing traffic across multiple cloud providers like AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, and Cloudflare R2. No more complex setups or workarounds — just seamless integration and easy management.
Why Cloud Connector?
For many users on Free, Pro, and Business plans, routing traffic for the same hostname across different cloud providers has been a challenge. Something as simple as directing example.com/images
to AWS S3 while keeping the rest of your site served by your origin web servers required multiple steps or enterprise-level features like Host Header modifications.
Cloud Connector is bringing this capability to everyone, eliminating the need for advanced solutions like Snippets and Workers.
How Does It Work?
With Cloud Connector, you can set up rules to route traffic directly to your cloud storage providers without altering your DNS targets or creating additional rules. For example, you can now send traffic to example.com/images
directly to an AWS S3 bucket, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob Storage with just a few clicks.
Key Benefits:
- Effortless Setup: Simplify traffic routing without additional rules or complex configurations.
- Enhanced Security & Performance: Optimise performance and security with Cloudflare’s built-in protections.
- Seamless Integration: Works out of the box with major cloud providers, with more on the way.
What’s Next?
We’re just getting started! Our vision is to expand Cloud Connector beyond object storage to include all HTTP cloud services, like load balancers. We want Cloud Connector to be your primary tool for discovering and managing web cloud services across multiple providers, simplifying secure traffic routing without worrying about DNS, SSL, or Host headers.
Try It Out!
Cloud Connector is rolling out to all customers throughout 2024. Once available, you’ll find the Cloud Connector tab under Rules in your zone dashboard.
In the meantime, take a look at our blog post and developer documentation to get a sneak peek.
We’d love your feedback! Share your thoughts, experiences, and questions in this thread to help us continue improving Rules products.
