I am currently using Scala Hosting’s sPanel to manage my website and am looking to integrate it with Cloudflare for enhanced performance and security. While I have already added my domain to Cloudflare, I’m seeking guidance on the optimal configuration of DNS settings within sPanel. Specifically, I would appreciate advice on handling SSL certificates, configuring DNS for maximum efficiency, and avoiding any potential caching issues. If anyone has experience with this setup, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
I am including some documents below on how to manage (dns records,SSL/TLS,caching) with best practices below.
As for SSL/TLS renewals this guide below details how to handle these in the best case.
As for caching this would depend on what cache control headers you have and assets. You can tweak how long assets live in cache with carious mechanisms.
If you have any questions on specific items in these setups please let us know!
I managed to enable Cloudflare with my website pretty quickly myself following a guide technical support pointed me to their KB article. It took less than 5 minutes. I found that in SPanel I can Purge the cache in Cloudflare, edit my records etc. which is nice, however I also noticed that if someone attacks my website I can enable the “I’m under attack mode” to block it.
Is it possible to enable automatically the I’m under attack mode only when there is an attack to my website and to return to normal once the attack is over?
P.S.
I’m just wondering if I should use a free or paid SSL certificate because my experience with the paid ones is that they don’t activate immediately and this is a problem because the encrypted connection is broken at this time.
