We recently contacted a handful of customers about misconfigured DNS records supporting Orange-to-Orange (O2O). As the deadline for manual updates has passed, Cloudflare will automatically update the remaining zones with misconfigured records. These records rely on O2O but incorrectly point to a Shopify IP instead of CNAME-ing to shops.myshopify.com
.
This change will begin rolling out on March 11, 2025. Misconfigured O2O DNS records will be updated to a CNAME pointing to shops.myshopify.com.

We have identified that your Shopify storefront uses a legacy Orange-to-Orange (O2O) setup on Cloudflare, where proxied records in your Cloudflare DNS configuration point to a Shopify IP instead of a CNAME as per our developer documentation. To ensure continued support, please update your DNS records are listed below, by Sunday, 2nd March 2025.
Starting the week of 3rd March 2025, Cloudflare will automatically update these records to the correct settings on your behalf to continue O2O support for your storefront.
Required action
For Shopify records listed below:
- Configure them as proxied CNAME records.
- Ensure they point to shops.myshopify.com instead of an IP address.
If updates are not completed by 2nd March 2025, Cloudflare will apply these changes on your behalf beginning 3rd March 2025.
