Increased rate of 500 errors originating from Cloudflare when accessing edge cached resources in the past 24 hours

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Unable to reproduce myself (even with a VPN), but have received reports from end users. We’re also seeing the increased error rate in our zone’s Cloudflare analytics without any corresponding logs on our servers.

Many regions / data centers are affected, but there is one commonality across the failing requests: they are URLs using Cloudflare edge caching. Uncached requests to our origin are still working for affected users.

Also - the LIS data center is disproportionately impacted by the 500 errors according to our Cloudflare analytics dashboard.

Hey,

It looks like you have a Page Rule using SSE (Server Side Excludes). This feature is deprecated and has since been removed. However, since it has been removed but is still referenced it is now causing this error for you.

Can you please check your Page Rules and remove SSE from them?
