I didnt dig deep into this testing but I wrote a very simple php script on my website that extraxts values from server superglobal:

HTTP_CLIENT_IP:
HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR:
HTTP_X_FORWARDED:
HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR:
HTTP_FORWARDED:
HTTP_X_CLUSTER_CLIENT_IP:
HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP:
REMOTE_ADDR: X.X.X.X -->only this field has got value. An ipv4 IP address provided by Cloudflare.

What are the methods used by those sites I wrote above to extract real and Cloudflare IP addresses and why is it like this?
I understand that WARP’s purpose is to hide your online activity from your ISP and not to mask your real IP, but I guess IP presentation should be consistent everywhere regardless what hacking and scanning tools websites use.

@kkrum , your advice is welcome. Thanks!

Sites using Cloudflare will generally see your actual IP address. Sites not on Cloudflare will see an egress IP from the colo where the request exited Cloudflare’s network.

That makes sense. What about 3. (https://www.whatismyip.com/) that shows actual ipv4 IP and closest Cloudflare colo’s ipv6 IP? Can it be that they are using Couldflare to obtain ipv6 IP address and something else to fetch ipv4 IP?

They use Cloudflare and understand how IPv6 works so they get both? :man_shrugging:
