Inbound emails never reach my mailbox (cloudflare + heroku + namecheap)

Hi there,

Recently I’ve launched my site on Heroku in combination with Cloudflare to persist HTTPS. Everything works great now from a hosting perspective except for inbound emails. My domain is registered with Namecheap and I’m also using their mail service. When I log into webmail I can send emails, but when I mail from my Gmail account, the mail never ends up there and I get a ‘451 temporary problem verifying address.’ error.

I have followed the instructions below exactly to set everything up and Namecheap support already checked everything and said that my DNS is configured correctly.

Any experience with this anyone? I would love to hear you feedback on this.

Your MX records currently point to two servers at privateemail.com. Are these correct? If they are, emails should be properly delivered.

Is your issue not receiving emails or not being able to access your inbox?

Yes, mx1 and mx2.privateemail.com. And the problem was with not being able to see the mails send to the domain end up in the mailbox. The mailbox itself worked just fine.

Update: SInce you mentioned (just like Namecheap support previously) that my DNS was looking just fine, I switched to Zoho to check if I’d run into the same issue. I got it to work in literally just 10 minutes. Not sure what the problem was with privateemail, but everything is up and running now.
