Google Search Console is showing a lot of 404s that have nothing to do with our website or in some cases, inappropriate topics.

Cloudflare is not capable of generating 404s, so those statuses are coming from the origin.
By default, Google should not be indexing 404 status codes, if they are, that’s something you might have to contact them about.
You can also use the “noindex” directive in a robots meta tag or in the HTTP header of the response for the specific URL:
Although this has nothing to do with Cloudflare, you might be able to overcome the issue from Cloudflare side by creating a “noindex” HTTP response header modification rule. This should work:
