Not able to add another email address I own on Google Workspace

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Tried to change the port numbers, contacted my IT department and they said that it’s my domain host that has locked this down

On Google account:

  1. Go to settings
  2. Accounts and Import
  3. Send mail as:
  4. Click on add another email address
  5. Input
  6. Click “Next Step”
  7. Enter Password
  8. Receive error message: Authentication failed. Please check your username / password.
  9. Click on show error details:

The “domain host” your IT department is referring to here, is your email provider.

Cloudflare doesn’t provide any SMTP services for outbound email, so Cloudflare isn’t the right party to contact here.

It is Google’s network that is refusing you, claiming that the username and password combination you’re using to authenticate with, is invalid.

You will need to contact Google Support for further assistance.

You appear to have configured Cloudflare Email Routing. If you have Google Workspace, you don’t need Cloudflare Email Routing and should use the MX records provided by Google. You will want to use their SPF and DKIM records, too.
