Let’s say the origin returns an HTML page or even 4xx status code. Is this kind of request billed?

4xx are not getting billed, incorrect format - is.

Can I ask a follow up question since we’re already on this?

What if the same resizing request is made, like a brute force attempt but less frequent so that it passes CF check, does it count toward billable usage?

Our users will have access to this image resizing feature, if anyone attempts a brute force against the endpoint, it will be a deal breaker for us. Or is there any way to prevent this?
