Your A record is correctly configured.

The issue you’re having is due to your server not accepting connections, or at least not accepting them on port 80:

On your Cloudflare dashboard, navigate to SSL/TLS > Overview and change SSL/TLS encryption mode from Flexible to Full.

If you want the safest encryption, generate an origin certificate in SSL/TLS > Origin Server and install it at your origin, then go back to the encryption mode and set it to Full Strict.
