i bought the esg org domain from cloudflare. they say it is pending until nameserver change from my godaddy account. godaddy says I dont own the domain esg org but I was charged $240 from cloudflare from it and no customer service to help me.
Welcome to the Cloudflare Community.
Cloudflare registrar is only available to domains that already use Cloudflare or new domain registrations which will automatically be assigned Cloudflare nameservers. The need to change nameservers only exists with domains that are registered elsewhere.
Additionally, Cloudflare registrar pricing is offered at cost and does not support domains that are declared premium by their registry, as those have variable cost. I mention this because the $240 price you reference is approximately 20 times the registration fee of an org
domain. It is, however, the exact amount of an annual Pro subscription.
It sounds like you may have purchased a Pro subscription on a domain that you don’t own. You definitely did not purchase an org
domain registration at that price.
Questions about billing will need to be resolved by the Customer Support team and cannot be resolved on the Community.
To contact the billing team, please submit a new support request from your Cloudflare account directly through the Cloudflare dashboard. Visit https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/support and choose Billing. Please share your ticket number here so that we can track it.
It sounds like you paid for one year of Pro Plan for an existing site, not the domain itself.
That site is already up and running, and belongs to an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) organization. Is that you?
This is what I got from Cloudflare. I am so angry. is there anything I can do?

Hi there,
Registrar transaction fees for domain registrations, transfers and renewals are non-refundable.
As per our Terms and Conditions:
3.1 FEES - Domain Registration Agreement
“You shall pay Cloudflare the applicable fees for the Registrar Services (“Registrar Fees”) prior to the registration or renewal of a domain. All payment obligations are non-cancellable and non-revocable, and all amounts paid are non-refundable.”
Cloudflare Registrar will only ever charge you what we pay to the registry for your domain.
What you paid to transfer the domain is paid directly to the Registry. Cloudflare does not keep any amount of what you paid.
Subscriptions are generally not refundable, either. Although the Community cannot directly assist in billing matters, if you share your ticket number here, we can escalate it.
I think this is the ticket number.
#2972582: I was trying to buy the domain name but someone else owns it. I am visually impaired and technically illiterate. I have no help on this so thank you for any consideration. My name is Mark.
Thanks for sharing your ticket number. I have requested escalation for your ticket.
We have replied in the ticket and should be getting this sorted out with you. Sorry that it has been so confusing for you.
