How to use Cloudflare as DNS provider with existing site without moving email?

We have existing domain on IONOS which we are currently pointing to WPEngine (A records only). Would like to switch to using Cloudflare as DNS host for the domain, but we don’t want to move or interfere with our IONOS-hosted email.

So, this is what we are trying to do. The end result should be:

Domain Registrar: IONOS
Email: IONOS
DNS Provider: Cloudflare
Web Host: WPEngine

I didn’t see any articles that specifically address this use case.

How can we do this?

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Cloudflare Community. :logodrop:

What you describe is a rather ordinary setup that doesn’t require any special instruction. You simply recreate your existing DNS records in Cloudflare. If your mail server uses a hostname in your domain, be sure to pay attention to the :orange:/:grey: status of records that will be used for anything other than web traffic.
