How to use an ip and port on a A DNS record

Hello I’m trying to set up an A dns record while using a port. every time i try i doesn’t see it as an ipv4 adress.

If Cloudflare allows setting specific ports via A / AAAA records, the standard is to wrap the DNS address in [ ] tags so that for you, it would look like [144.217.73.130]:40436 - that, again, is if Clouflare allows port config for DNS records. If not you can always only use port 40436 for you doman (or any particicluar sub/path) using page rules.

Edit: see this Cloudflare app, portzilla. Browsers are hard-coded to use port 80 for http:// connections and port 443 for https:// connections. They also don’t check SRV records, they only query for A/AAAA. In order to get port 8080 to work for your domain, you will either need to go directly to example.com:8080 or use a proxy like Workers to proxy to another port number. You cannot specify a specific port in DNS records.
