How to setup Cloudfare when website points to IP address in A records

What is the name of the domain?

What is the issue you’re encountering

Hi I would like to use Cloudflare free version for my website, however the site is currently setup like this: - Email accounts are held with the domain registrar company (IONOS) and main Nameservers are with them. - The website is pointing to hosting by a different provider, whereby A records in the DNS point to the hosting IP address. So how to I setup Cloudflare in this scenario? Thanks

You follow Add a site | Cloudflare Fundamentals docs and Cloudflare should import all applicable DNS entries. Just verify it, after you have added the domain.

Hi Sandro, thanks for the reply.

Cloudflare are saying that we need to change the nameservers, so basically I would just need to change as they say then everything will just import correctly?

Before you change nameservers, make sure all DNS entries were imported. Then you can change nameservers.

Hi

They are all showing on the DNS Records page in Cloudflare here:

Would that mean they are there imported correctly or do you suggest that I should upload a separate BIND zone file ?

If all the relevant entries show up there, Cloudflare imported them correctly.

That’s great, thank you so much for all your help :+1:
