How to set up DMARC with Strato Germany

Hi there,
since Google blocks emails because they are unauthenticated, I tried to set up the DMARC management on Cloudflare and it should be working but doesn’t: DKIM Checker and Lookup Tool tools | EasyDMARC
Our hoster is Strato Germany. What did I do wrong? Do I need to set up SPF too and if yes where can I find my IPv4 and/or IPv6 address and the right mail server address? I’m not an expert or developer and need help with this, can anybody please point me into the right direction how to get this running? That would be awesome!

Sorry for the issues you are facing with adding the DMARC record.

To set up DMARC and SPF with your Strato Germany hosted domain, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Strato account and go to the DNS settings.
2. Create a TXT record for DMARC with the following details: Name: _dmarc, Value: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected].
3. Create another TXT record for SPF with the following details: Name: @, Value: v=spf1 mx a ~all.
4. Save the changes, and allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation.

Contact Strato support for your domain’s IP addresses and mail server details, and adjust SPF and DMARC records accordingly if necessary.

Hi, thanks for your answer! It is not possible to set these records because the entries at Strato are deactivated, and I and our provider Raidboxes think they must be set at Cloudflare to work. So should I do the same thing at Cloudflare and how do I do that? Best wishes, Oliver

Could you please tell us if it is possible to set up DMARC and SPF with Strato Germany? I contacted Strato and they said that it is not possible with our current plan that uses dynamic IP addresses and that I need to switch to a dedicated server. But that would mean to pay more and move all DNS records again, just for the mail server. The website is running at another provider (Raidboxes) already. Can you give any advice what we should do? Hi, ok, so just to repeat for everybody with the same or similar setup like us: if your provider uses a server and mail server with dynamic IP addresses like for example Strato Germany, the setup with Cloudflare won’t work! Your emails will be interpreted as spam mails by for example Gmail because it is not possible to authenticate your emails using DMARC and SPF.
