What is the issue or error you’re encountering

Unable to connect domain with hosting provider R2 record creating issues and I am unable to remove R2 record.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have tried removing R2 record so, I can add new ‘A’ record in the DNS to connect by domain with hosting. Then, I will use plugins to connect my domain with cloudflare to show the data in my bucket.

Did you go into the R2 settings to remove the custom domain?

Thanks, I have now connected with hosting. But I am getting an 404 error. Object not found. How to fix?

Can you show a screenshot of your DNS record (https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns/records) and of your R2 settings (https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/r2/overview → select your bucket → settings → custom domains)?

Here’s the Screenshots

You need to click on the 3 dots in your first screenshot and remove the custom domain.

I have removed the domain and hosted a ‘A’ record in DNS and now the domain is successfully connected with hosting after propagation.

Now, my issue is I have an HTML file that I want to show on my website. I have created a bucket and uploaded that file. How will I show that file on my website?

You first start by adding a new custom domain to your R2 bucket, but a subdomain. It could be static.stemgenex.com for example.

Then, you could either change the link on your website to the new subdomain, or you could try the Cloud Connector, which has just added support for R2 today.

If you only want to use it for a single file, I would recommend with the first option (just changing the link)

If I connect the domain with R2 then, I will be disconnected with my hosting as my ‘A’ record will no longer be functional after allowing R2 to make changes in my DNS. Cloud Connector how can I connect with it?

No, that is why you need to connect a subdomain to R2. As I mentioned in my previous post, you could use static.stemgenex.com.

It starts the same way, by adding a custom domain to R2. But afterwards, as I understand it, you don’t need to change the link to the file on your website. Instead, you can create a Cloud Connector Rule that sends traffic for certain URLs to R2 instead of to your website.

I would recommend you just change the URL for your one file.
