How to redirect root domain to www?

I don’t know how to setup 301 redirect from root domain to www

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I want to redirect rabrain.com to www.rabrain.com, so that both works and not as duplicate by Google.

When I search this question on Google or this community, many tutorials and questions are found. After digging into those results, I found they have different solutions, so I don’t know which to follow. What’s more, some solutions are quite similar but varies to some extent. This really confuses me. The solutions fall into 2 kinds.

  1. Add a cname record
  2. Create a Redirect Rule

We don’t know which one is better. I suggest a feature to the DNS records management UI. When users click “add record”, it support a type called “redirect”, which allows user to redirect root domain to www. That’s much more user friendly. Other domain providers like namecheap have this feature for a long time.
