How to rate limit static site traffic using dns only cname record?

I have a static site and serverless function deployed on Netlify, Vercel and Firebase, I want to rate limit user.

Using subdomains for each deployment and DNS record set as below
Type Name Content Proxy status
CNAME subdomain respective app URL. DNS Only

“DNS Only” means Only. Your connections don’t go through Cloudflare, so you can’t use other Cloudflare features. In order to use rate limiting you would have to enable the proxy.
