How to properly whitelist an IP range in the firewall?

#1

Hello CF community,

I have been having some problems using the proper format to whitelisting an IP range. The two ranges we wish to whitelist are 199.68.156.0 – 199.68.159.255 and 70.42.249.1 – 70.42.249.255. I did the following format for the second range: 70.42.249.0/24 however I am not sure if it is correct.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you,
Mike

Absolutely correct
You can use /24 for the first network as well.
I am not sure if CF accepts the first notation.

If you need help in calculating sub/supernets you can use tools like

Mark,

Thank you for your response! So for the first range, would the proper format be 199.68.156.0/24, 199.68.157.0/24, 199.68.158.0/24, 199.68.159.0/24?

Yes. Or simply
199.68.156.0/22

Didn’t notice that it was 156 to 159, sorry.
