How to link your website to a domain name

Hello, I try to bind the domain name I bought from Cloudflare on my personal website design platform (cargo), but it always fails. The staff of cargo sent me a message: (Hello,
Unfortunately, we’re not able to configure your domain name as the control panel at your host is not allowing us to modify the DNS nameservers. If you contact the cloudflare.com support team, they’ll be able to resolve this and make the necessary changes in your DNS panel on their end. You’ll need to have these DNS nameserver settings in place on their end:

ns1.cargo.site

ns2.cargo.site

For reference: Using a Third-Party Domain — Cargo Support

Be sure that those are the only nameservers in place - if any non-Cargo nameservers are left in place, this configuration will not work properly. The only ones that can be in place are those two listed above.

If they are able to make this change for you and ensure that it is working (the change can sometimes take up to 48 hours), you can then connect your domain name through the Cargo admin, under “Use an existing Domain Name”, then “Enter a Third-Party Domain” (paste the domain in there and hit the “enter” key on your computer keyboard).

MX records are what govern email that’s been set up with a domain name. So, if you can find your MX records on your registrar’s end, and add them to your Cargo admin panel, by hitting the gear icon and going to "Cargo Account Settings ", then “DNS Manager”, you’ll be able to maintain your email connection. You can also give the records to us here, and we’ll be able to add them for you, if you’d prefer.) I should how to solve this problem? Looking forward to your reply, thank you!

6.1 in the Domain Registration Agreement states that you cannot change the nameservers:

6.1 Nameservers . Registrant agrees to use Cloudflare’s nameservers. REGISTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT IT MAY NOT CHANGE THE NAMESERVERS ON THE REGISTRAR SERVICES, AND THAT IT MUST TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY REGISTRAR IF IT WISHES TO CHANGE NAMESERVERS.

You’ll either need to use Cloudflare’s DNS and get a list of the required records from your host, or transfer your domain elsewhere to change the nameservers.

Based on the Cargo document that you shared, you can use a CNAME on a subdomain.

@conank92 Just a quick note: even though the Cargo documentation specifically mentioned subdomain, note that you can actually use the same CNAME method described for your root domain as well (example.com) because Cloudflare supports CNAME at the root level.
