I need to forward or redirect a domain hosted at Office 365 to my domain on Cloudflare. I’m confused because all I know how to do is change the A record to my Cloudflare IP. But at DNS Propagation Checker - Global DNS Testing Tool I can see that there are two IPs. And if I just choose one and set the other domains A record to it, I get Error 1016 Origin DNS error.
And I can’t find any definitive info on Clouflare on how to do this or what my actual IP is for my domain.
And for the record, I’m not even sure that setting the A record is exactly what I want to do in this instance. It’s just what I’ve done before in another situation.
So those IPs that you get from the link you provided are Cloudflares and you can not set your records to be them.
They are different from the A record that you set in the DNS settings because you have the orange cloud for them which means that they are being proxied through Cloudflare. The IP for your domain will be whatever you have set in DNS settings.
I am confused about what you mean when you want to forward the domain hosted at Office 365 to Cloudflare because Cloudflare does not provide hosting.
Just clarifying, do you have domain that you want to move from Office 365 to Cloudflare or do you have two domains and want to redirect traffic from the old domain to the new one?
Ok. The problem is I don’t know how to do that in this case. In the past I redirected a domain by changing the A record to the new IP. But that is not working in this case. How do I do a URL redirection?
