How to DynDNS my rootdomain?

Since a long time I’m looking for a way to dynamically update the A-record or just the IP to my server at home because it is connected to my router.
I have read so often that CloudFlare provides a way to do it but I don’t know how…

I’ve tried DNS-O-Matic but it didn’t worked somehow. It seems I do something wrong. Tried to use it with the DynDNS service of my router FritzBox.

I also tried ddclient on linux now and it does also not work.
