How to add a PTR Record?

Hello,

I’m trying to add a PTR record for my sub domain, and I’m getting the below error:

DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004) Content for PTR record is invalid.

The PTR Record I’m adding has content: name sub .example .com and domain name the IP-Address, but after trying to save it the above error is raising.

How can I add a PTR Record for my server IP in a reverse lookup?

PTR records are created for an IP address, not for a domain.

As you probably don’t own your IP address, you wouldn’t be able to add a PTR record to it. This needs to be done by your hosting provider, and they probably have a menu where you can achieve this if you have a dedicated IP address.
