Hi. Seems this is supposed to be automatic (and should otherwise be simple self-activate) but I have a single, one-level subdomain and Cloudflare hasn’t automatically given it SSL and, try as I might, I can’t seem to do it myself.
Am I missing something? Anyone have a link to clear, simple instructions on how to activate SSL on a sub-domain? (Instructions a non-tech person will easily understand)?

Sorry to hear the issue you are facing with.
Have you enabled Universal SSL or Advanced Certificate Manager on your domain?
Please make sure to enable either one (Universal SSL is enough for your case as it covers root and first level subdomains) and make sure to add subdomains on your DNS setting with Proxy Mode.
