How not to mess up MX records (welp!)

Greetings beautiful humans, ok so kinda noob question we have a client that would like an SSL cert setup which I’ve done many times before - but usually on new sites, they have their mail/mx records hosted elsewhere, how do we make sure when we change the NS that we don’t mess up their mail.

<3 ty.

It is best to set up SSL before trying to add a site to Cloudflare, and making sure that all works correctly. I’m a fan of Let’s Encrypt certs for this.

When adding a domain to Cloudflare, just make sure that the target of the MX is either outside the domain, or is :grey: on the Cloudflare Dashboard. All email related records need to be :grey:, as Cloudflare will not deal with the email protocols.
