Greetings beautiful humans, ok so kinda noob question we have a client that would like an SSL cert setup which I’ve done many times before - but usually on new sites, they have their mail/mx records hosted elsewhere, how do we make sure when we change the NS that we don’t mess up their mail.
It is best to set up SSL before trying to add a site to Cloudflare, and making sure that all works correctly. I’m a fan of Let’s Encrypt certs for this.
When adding a domain to Cloudflare, just make sure that the target of the MX is either outside the domain, or is on the Cloudflare Dashboard. All email related records need to be , as Cloudflare will not deal with the email protocols.
