How long for redirect rules to take effect?

What is the name of the domain?

What is the error number?

n/a

What is the error message?

n.a

What is the issue you’re encountering

Redirect not working

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Saved a bunch of times. Waited. Saved. Waited some more.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Go to https://rhrr.us/list and get a 404.

May I ask if you could share a screenshot if this particular Redirect Rule you’ve created?

Did you used Redirect Rules, Bulk Redirects, or maybe Page Rules to achieve this?

Helpful articles:

Usually it’s few seconds for a proxied :orange: hostname’s, however if our Web browser got this webpage, even 404 errors sometimes do get, cached since before, either on the origin host and even at Cloudflare edge, we’d have to re-test this in an e.g. Private Window (Incognito mode) or via another different Web browser.

Despite, currently to me it looks like the cache is not a case here

$ curl -I https://rhrr.us/list
HTTP/2 404
date: Wed, 25 Jun 2025 22:16:00 GMT
content-type: text/plain;charset=UTF-8
cache-control: no-store, no-cache

I’m trying to get https://rhrr.us/list to 302 redirect (because I’ll eventually create an on-page signup form) to FreeLists / Rush-hour Resistance

That’s it. I’ve clearly done something wrong, however.

Which hosting provider do you use?

The registrar is Hover. But I’ve updated the DNS servers to use Cloudflare. The site is hosted by Canva, but there isn’t a page called “/list” on the domain. I want Cloudflare to do the redirect to the other site.

I mean I’ve updated the nameservers to point at isaac.ns.cloudflare.com and sreeni.ns.cloudflare.com so I can get this redirect to work. In theory, that is.

Yeah, that’s what I had expected. Canva use Cloudflare themselves, so your CF account will be bypassed.

Unless Canva provides CNAME records that you can use instead of A records, you won’t be able to use Cloudflare for your Canva website:

I think the instructions say “turn off proxy records,” yeah? And that if I do so, things should… work? I’ve done that in Cloudflare, so now everything is “DNS Only.”

No. You can’t use Cloudflare for a Canva site.
