How long does CNAME take to propogate?

Hey, I setup my first CNAME record a few hours ago for “iconosystems, com”.

I added the type as app and it points to app, msgsndr, com.

I am still waiting for it to propagate? Usually, these don’t take so long.

It is a basic subdomain at app, iconoystems, com

Any advice is much appreciated

Propagation seems fine from my end.

If your system (or the resolver, e.g. your ISP’s DNS resolver) has cached the sub-domain from the time when the sub-domain didn’t exist, it can take a little while.

You are however having a redirect loop…

Can you please head over to https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/ssl-tls and check your current SSL/TLS encryption mode?

If it is currently set to Flexible, then switch to Full (Strict).

Changed to Full, thanks for that.

I will give it till tomorrow. I am trying to connect up with Go High Level but it is not recognising app, iconosystems, com as a valid address.

The error reads “Couldn’t find cname record pointing app, iconosystems, com to (app, msgsndr, com)”

Like you said “If your system has cached the sub-domain from the time when the sub-domain didn’t exist, it can take a little while.”

When you set a CNAME to :orange: Proxied, it is published as A and AAAA records with Cloudflare proxy IPs. If you need a CNAME to be published, you will need to switch :orange::grey: DNS Only, at least until the external site concludes its verification process. Depending on the requirements of the third-party platform, you may be able to reactivate the :orange: Proxy after your verification completes.
