How long before page rules go into effect?

I created three page rules on a free account. After an hour, still not working. Do I need to be more patient or should I conclude my rules are no good?

Rules are:

discoverquotes.com/*/quote*/
Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: https://discoverquotes.com/$1/)
Enabled

discoverquotes.com/*/quote*/index.html
Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: https://discoverquotes.com/$1/)

My goal with the first two rules is to redirect urls like

https://discoverquotes.com/cookie-monster/quote2553380/

to

https://discoverquotes.com/cookie-monster/

Answering my own question - it took 3-4 hours for the redirects to start showing up for me… so I just needed to be more patient. (-:

Page rules shouldn’t take hours to start working. However, perhaps your browser was loading from a browser cache or something and not picking-up on the changes because it wasn’t making a new request for the resource(s).

Page rules take a few seconds. Transform and Firewall Rules take a bit longer, I usually wait about 90 seconds before I start to panic that I made a mistake.

Always best to use a command line tool like cURL so that you take browser issues out of the equation.
