How do you serve a 429 response with CloudFlare (or other custom response code)?

When our origin server responds with HTTP 429, CloudFlare takes this personally and responds with HTTP 521 to the browser.

Is there a way to tell the edge server what response code to use?

Don’t know why you think so, but I am afraid that is not accurate.

A 521 has other reasons.
