How do I take the DKIM info from NameCheap and Add it to my DNS?

Hey Community Experts,

Here is what NameCheap gives for DKIM info:
DNS RECORDS: default._domainkey IN TXT ("v=DKIM1; etc,etc,etc

PUBLIC KEY: -----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY-----MIIBIjAN etc, etc, etc

PRIVATE KEY BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----MIIEow etc, etc, etc

I’m not a techie person. I do know these are supposed to be entered at a TXT record. My understanding is this would be three separate entries. What do I enter in the ‘Name’ section of the DNS records for each value? I know the big long code goes in the ‘Content’.

Thanks for your help.
Bernie

May I ask if you’re using PrivateMail from Namecheap?

If yes, then the TXT type of the DNS record, Name should contain default._domainkey, the TTL should be set to the Auto and into the Content field you put the full part v=DKIM;k=rsa;p=...

The Public/Private key part, keep it for yourself on save place.

The default._domainkey part.

Correct.

Thank You for your response.
I just need a little more clarification.
Does something get substituted in for ‘domainkey’ or does it stand as is?
For the Public and Private Key names, do I still put default._domainkey?

Best Regards,
Bernie

Do not publicly share the private key data anywhere. It should never be placed in your DNS records.

It may help to read up on how DKIM works.
