How do I disable Custom Hostnames (Cloudflare for SaaS) feature?

What is the name of the domain?

(general question)

What is the issue you’re encountering

I enabled Custom Hostnames on a zone, but don’t see how to disable it.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

After enabling Custom Hostnames on a zone and getting everything working, I came to realize I don’t actually need it for my SaaS. I deleted the one custom hostname I had set up, and I removed the fallback origin, but I don’t see any way to “disable” the feature entirely. Or can I assume it’s disabled since there’s no fallback origin?

You can assume it’s off. Cloudflare for SaaS is an account-wide subscription, technically all domains on an account have it “enabled” if any domain has been enabled for it. BUT a better term would be “available”, not “enabled”.

You won’t be billed extra for it despite it being available on your account, since it isn’t an additional charge unless you have more than 100 hostnames attached.

You might be able to have it disabled if you cancel the SSL for SaaS product in Billing → subscriptions:

However i am not 100% certain on if this will actually disable the ability to use the SaaS feature. I can report back here around February 10.

Hey, that’d be great. Thanks for taking the time!

@shot Just wanted to report back that it seems it did completely ‘disable’ the feature after billing happened :tada:

So to cancel it: cancel the “SSL for SaaS” product in Billing → subscriptions
