How do I change my domain in my Cloudflare account?

Hello,
I changed the domain name of my website. My host has completed the migration and changed the nameservers.

How do I change the domain name in my Cloudflare account?

I am not aware what exactly? Maybe the DNS records at DNS tab of Cloudflare dashboard for your domain name?

May I ask in which way you want to change your domain name at your Cloudflare account?

You cannot rename a DNS zone in your Cloudflare account if that is what you are asking. You would need to add it like a new domain.

If you want to redirect visitors to your new domain, there is also a #tutorial for that.

Not that you can use Bulk redirects for this purpose now instead of Page Rules.

My host has already set up a permanent 301 redirect from the old domain to the new one. Do you think it would be better to add it as a new domain (your first option) or set up a redirect in Cloudflare (your second option)?

That was not two options. That was two distinct things.

The first was the required step to get the DNS for you new domain moved into Cloudflare, assuming that you still want to use Cloudflare with your new domain. If that is not the case, and you do not intend to use Cloudflare with your new domain, you can disregard that step.

The redirect instructions perform the same function as the one employed by your host, but with the added benefit of not requiring the traffic to reach your host before the client is notified of the redirect.

My apologies! Thank you for the clarification.

I use Ezoic for display ads. Would setting up a redirect in Cloudflare affect that integration?

Where the redirect is employed isn’t relevant in the context of Ezoic. However, you won’t be using Ezoic for anything in a domain that does nothing but redirect to a new domain.

You will probably want to revoke the Ezoic integration with the old domain and set it up in the new domain. Based on recurring themes here that involve Ezoic, I would also recommend revoking any API tokens that Ezoic no longer needs, as Ezoic has a nasty habit of reverting DNS changes made in Cloudflare since they expect you to manage your DNS in their platform.

Thank you for all your help! I’m all up and running now.
