How can I update the custom nameserver for domain name?

Hi Cloudflare Community,

I’m hoping I can receive some guidance here. I decided to purchase four domain names from Cloudflare today, hoping to use the domain names for a different hosting provider, Netlify, but I seem to be having a hard time trying to update the custom nameserver in the Cloudflare dashboard. I received the four DNS name servers from Netlify already, but I can’t seem to figure out how to add these four name servers to Cloudflare. I have the basic “free” plan.

Any assistance would be great! Just wanted to purchase the domain names from Cloudflare and host the websites on Netlify. Didn’t think I’d be hitting a wall like this.

Thanks!

You cannot change the nameservers if you bought the domain from Cloudflare, so you will have to configure DNS manually.

Thanks for the reply!

I was able to use the first article to find the right path to configure the DNS manually. If anyone else reading this finds themselves in the same situation, syncing a Cloudflare domain name with Netlify hosting, then this should help too:
