How can i active SSL using cloudflare

I’m new to Cloudflare and eager to secure my website with SSL. Can anyone give me a simple step-by-step guide on how to activate SSL using Cloudflare? I want to ensure my visitors’ data is safe. Thanks a bunch!

To activate SSL with Cloudflare, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your site is already on SSL before you add Cloudflare. Your hosting provider can assist you with this.
  2. After your site is secure, visit https://dash.cloudflare.com/ and sign in to your account.
  3. Select the appropriate domain.
  4. Navigate to the “SSL/TLS” menu.
  5. Under the “Overview” tab, set SSL to “Full” or “Full (Strict)”.

Remember that you also may need to install a Cloudflare Origin Certificate on your origin server. If your hosting provider won’t provide a certificate, Cloudflare does offer free SSL certificates for domains running through it.

Just to follow-up on what @cloonan wrote, you should always select Full Strict. The legacy Full would still not provide proper encryption.
